Girl, Get Off the Couch is the groundbreaking self-help book you desperately need to drop the weight and All negative thinking
I wrote about my journey from obesity to a healthy size 6 in my book, Girl, Get Off the Couch. My goal is to help other women understand the relationship between weight and mental health.
Way too many of us are carrying it.
But can we get real together for a second?
Coming from someone who struggled with depression and massive weight gains for the first 30 years of my life...
I finally realized that my weight loss transformation wasn’t about what I was putting into my mouth.
>> It was about what I was putting into my head.
(Negative thoughts, thinking food would make me feel better, believing I wasn’t worth anything more)
The more I fed myself these thoughts, the more I’d eat, the more I’d gain.
It was a nasty circle.
☛Take my previous client, Stephanie, as transformation inspo.
The longer she held onto her past trauma, the more she kept seeing the scale rise. Her previous difficulties of injuries, chronic illness, and former relationships were the founding members of her weight gain.
It wasn’t until she was truly honest with me, her mentor (and more importantly, herself) that she could put her negative perspective of herself to rest.
And it wasn’t until she addressed the mind piece that she was fully motivated to lose her weight.
“Dr. Radisha’s has a powerful calmness of listening and not judging. It’s a rare attribute because she fully understood what I was going through. She understood my pain. She understood my struggles. She understood my anger. But the most life-changing thing about Dr. Radisha? She has given me the tools that connected my mindset to my eating habits, which has resulted in dropping both my self-hate & multiple dress sizes. She finally helped me see my best self and my true potential.”
Check out Stephanie’s 365 day transformation. Look at how HAPPY she is in that pink dress?!
There's "power in pain" and you can tell that this is a powerful woman. Dr Brown shows that you can persevere no matter the struggles that you are going through and it starts from within. So many take away in this book and it flows beautifully. To have gone through so much it's no wonder that this book is full of solutions.
This book is inspirational.
I liked this book because I feel fired up and motivated to lose the weight I have gained after 3 kids, divorce and various other life traumas. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is trying to get their mind right so they can lose the weight!
The author did a great job fully opening herself up to her readers. Many people are going through the same struggles. I really appreciated her openness and honesty. Life is hard, but this book teaches us that everyone has obstacles that can be overcame. I am inspired by her story and fully enveloped her struggle. Keep doing what you are doing. You are an inspiration Dr. Brown.
Triumph over Struggle
I know there are some websites out there that offer you something cool for free, but then stick you into some program that charges your card every month.
This isn't one of them.
There's NO hidden "continuity program" - and in case you're wondering why I'm doing this...
Well, there are actually a few reasons...
I am known as the “Mental Weightologist”. I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist who suffered secretly from depression. I spent many night sitting on my coach crying myself to sleep. I felt hopeless that I would ever lose the 80 pounds that I had gained. I was embarrassed and ashamed that I allowed myself to gain so much weight. All the while, I went to work everyday helping others while I was suffering in silence.
I wrote about my journey so that I could help other women who are also suffering in silence. I wanted to help women to understand the secret to losing weight and keeping it off. I wanted women to understand that depression does not discriminate; however, you can overcome depression and weight issues.
I share my personal journey from obesity to healthy to help you to overcome your struggles and to begin your journey towards building a life you deserve.
